Ed Middleton, EMEA marketing director at automated testing platform provider Tricentis, said the extended partnership agreement was a “monumental” move.
“It provides an unprecedented level of integration between our companies and establishes Tricentis as the testing solution of choice for SAP and SAP customers.”
He said that SAP described Tricentis as “the strongest partner they could find” in the testing space.
“SAP will include our products as part of their core solution and sell them via the SAP global sales force and channel. SAP will adopt the Tricentis platform internally, and our teams will jointly collaborate on future SAP innovation.
“Finally, our technology will integrate with SAP application lifecycle management (ALM) and SAP Cloud ALM,” Middleton explained.
The partnership extension creates a “first of its kind” collaboration that will allow enterprises to accelerate their SAP release speed and their migrations to SAP S/4HANA, he said.
This will boost testing speed by a factor of ten and slash risk about 90% as well as halve costs, Middleton said.
Ikramul Khaled, product manager at distributor QBS, said the partnership extension was great news for SAP VARs and solution providers.
“This is a great day. With the help of this new partnership, we will be able to enable SAP users by providing a continuous testing platform for their cloud and hybrid environments,” Khaled said.

Lowering the barriers to better software
According to Sandeep Johri, CEO at Tricentis, customers are increasingly finding that traditional testing methods require significant manual effort and can be a challenge to deploy in a timely manner. This has become more the case with the ramped up velocity and volume of SAP updates.
“With this partnership, customers can turbocharge their SAP releases with a modern, continuous testing platform that helps to eliminate testing approaches that are not only slow and costly, but ultimately ineffective,” Johri said in the partnership announcement.
Traditional testing methods are the biggest barrier in software delivery cycles and represent nearly 30% of IT budgets, according to Tricentis.
The SAP partnership extension offers new solutions for testing modernisation and accelerating software releases.
These will include SAP Change Impact Analysis by Tricentis, which promises AI-powered impact analysis of business-process risks after a SAP update.
End-to-end business process testing spanning SAP and third-party applications, including automation of up to 90% of tests, will be offered via SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing by Tricentis.
In addition, SAP Load Testing by Tricentis will optimise the SAP user experience with scalable performance testing for SAP Fiori and cloud applications including SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Ariba solutions.
