Three Reasons Why You Should Give Miro A Try

Miro is the online collaborative whiteboard platform that empowers teams to create the next big thing by providing the best solutions for collaboration. Its tools and templates facilitate human connection, allowing people to create together, no matter where they are in the world. Watch the product in action.

We spoke to Miro’s Head of Channel Partnerships, Nelson Wang, about visual collaboration — and learned three reasons why you should give Miro a try.

How did the concept for Miro come about?

The concept from the beginning was to build a platform for real-time collaboration.  It was critical to build a platform because we expected people to build on top of the product. Also, we wanted to allow clients’ teams to work as if they’re sitting next to each other, even if they aren’t. Ultimately, our mission is to empower teams to create the next big thing.

What can teams do with Miro?

Miro has helped address use cases across different areas. For example, with meetings and workshops, Miro gives online meetings a feeling of “in-person energy,” where teams are more engaged and ideas flow freely.

Let’s break it down by use case: For Agile workflows, you can supercharge your Agile process with remote standups, sprint plannings, and retrospectives; and put your ideas into action with Kanban boards, and integrations with Jira, Asana, and more.

For online brainstorming, you can unleash your creative ideas on an infinite canvas and collaborate in real time from any location; you’re able to think in many formats with sticky notes, diagrams, and more.

For mapping and diagramming, you can create robust maps and diagrams that elevate knowledge and align everyone on the vision. This is ideal for diagramming complex systems, processes, and customer journeys.

For UX and design thinking, you can collaborate on design sprints, customer journeys maps, wireframes, and more; it empowers you to generate ideas, uncover insights, and transform the way your team builds products.

For strategy and planning, you can propel your plans from strategy through execution; and easily run engaging remote planning sessions, build visual presentations, and manage and track progress collaboratively.

Simply, Miro makes meeting online more human, productive, and fun.

What integrations does Miro have?

Miro has many integrations, including Microsoft Teams, Jira Cards, Slack, Box, Notion, Dropbox, Salesforce, Asana, Monday, InVision, Okta, Azure AD, and more. You can check them out on our marketplace.

What’s the Miro Marketplace exactly?

The Miro marketplace helps you streamline your workflows across all of your teams by connecting Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Trello, Sketch, and more.

What trends did you see in 2020? What do you see on the horizon for 2021?

In 2020, we saw Miro users collaborate more than ever. For example, between the beginning of March and mid-June, we saw an increase of 166 percent in returned weekly active teams and growth of 236 percent in weekly active users.

We also noticed that teams tend to collaborate in real time. Previous to the shift to remote work, roughly 50 percent of Miro boards were used for real-time synchronous collaboration in a given week. Since March 2020, between 64 and 67 percent of Miro boards have been used by teams to work together at the same time.

Beyond that, we noticed that more people are coming together to work online — sessions with 10-19 simultaneous collaborators on a board in a given week grew 943 percent by mid-June, compared to the beginning of March 2020. Lastly, Miro users are creating more content than ever — users created 162 percent more sticky notes in May (49.5 million) than in March (18.9 million).

We now have over 15 million people who use our platform to bring their ideas to life. This number represents nearly 300 percent growth since March 1, 2020.

How should resellers talk about Miro?

Ask your customers how they’re thinking about collaboration and productivity for their teams in a distributed work environment. Additionally, you can ask questions to learn more about your customers’ workflows within research and design, meetings and workshops, strategy and planning, and mapping, diagramming, and brainstorming — as these are key areas in which Miro can help.

Can resellers request a demo of Miro?

Yes! Here’s a great tutorial. Additionally, we offer a free plan that resellers can try out.

Finally, can you give our readers your top three reasons why resellers should promote Miro?

  1. Customers need productivity tools that can help them be even more productive — and feel more connected — in the “new normal” of remote work.
  2. Miro helps customers to visually collaborate with use cases across brainstorming and ideation, UX thinking, design, Agile workflows, strategy and planning, mind mapping, and more.
